A quick post this morning. I am a huge fan of Adobe Lightroom. While I use Photoshop as well, Lightroom is the hub from which I manage all my digital work-flow, from importing and key-wording my images, to most post processing and image output. Before Lightroom, I was lost, brother, but now I am found.
Adobe are currently beta testing a new version of Lightroom – version 3. It has a number of really useful new features that will make post production that much easier (and also limit the number of times I need to round trip from Lightroom to Photoshop and back – thank you Adobe!).
They latest feature to be announced is in program lens correction. At first glance this will will deal with a number of lens issues:
- Barrel and pincushion distortion;
- Vertical and horizontal distortion;
- Chromatic aberration; and
- Vignetting
And better still, while you can control everything manually, you will be able to use lens profiles (Standard or customised ones you have built yourself) to automatically correct for the distortion, without having to do each image manually. The program will recognise the lens from Exif data, and apply the corrections in the profile.
I lurv you Adobe….
